My ‘71 Beetle was a little tank. My family subsequently purchased many VWs. Until 1981 I purchased a new diesel Rabbit. Just think of all the bad things that has happened to you from birth until old age and that’s what the Rabbit was! Thought the car and experience was a once in a lifetime event and purchased another VW. This time their 1983 upscale turbo diesel Quantum. Pure hell ensues. Both vehicles were trash from nearly day one and no amount of cash could get them to 90,000 miles.
I was young and it hurt to lose new vehicles back to back. Hurt so bad that I couldn’t purchase a VW if it were the only manufacturer left on the planet. I recovered financially and have purchased ~100 vehicles since those days with no sad tales to tell. Save yourself from all the pain! Insanity does not have to play a roll in your life! Myself and others have been through the pain so that you don’t have to. Read the posts and surf the web. You’ll find that VW is junk today and has been junk since around 1980. Even before that all they could build was a simple car with no frills.
I hate VW, I hate the dealerships that treated me like a second class citizen, I hate VW advertising. I hate everything VW even after 32 years! This company needs to run the crash course it deserves. VW will kill your spirit and possibly you. God I wish I could put it into words for you. Sorry I can’t.
