Jetta

A Volkswagen Jetta was my dream…

STORY:

A Volkswagen Jetta was my dream car. After seeing numerous commercials for this stylish, snazzy and hip car, I determined that I had to get it. All of the features as well as the fact that it was pretty much compact made it an easy sell. All was great for the first few months.

The worst part of owning this car was when the passanger-side airbags all deployed while I was driving on the highway. Thankfully I kept the car under control and got it off to the side for safety. To do this day, VWoA refuses to admit that it was a mechanical/computer error even though a crash expert and airbag specialist have seen the car and found absolutely no reasoning for the airbags to deploy. VWoA says they found a ding in the rear axle (I say ding as it was but 1″). Problem with that theory is the nearest sensor to there is one that senses if the car flips, not has a collision. In the end, I had to pay for all repairs since by insurance company says it really was a defect and should be paid by the manufacturer. Manufacturer wouldn’t pay, so this GULLIBLE driver had to deal with the large bill.

Beyond this major incident, I’ve incurred the usual (by VW standards) issues of my window regulators breaking as well as the soft-touch on my door handles and console peeling constantly. Then I had the joy of my sunroof drain channels clogging, resulting in rain water channeling into my car, soaking my headliner and then pouring down the door columns. Of course when the service center was told to correct the issue and check the headliner for mold as it seems this has been happening for a while, they only unclogged the channels and then sent me on my way. VW can deal with the possible mold then when this lease is up. I requested it be checked and their wonderfully-certified technicians did nada.
