I leased a brand new Jetta…
STORY:
I leased a brand new Jetta in 2005 because I didn’t want to deal with the stupid stuff that breaks on used cars, and the hassle of dealing with fixing them. Turns out I should never have dealt with VW. If I found this website before my purchase, I wouldn’t be so miserable right now.
Recently, my Jetta’s clutch pressure plate cracked into three pieces. Ok, fine. Maybe for a seven-year old car, but my Jetta is two years old with 15K miles on it. Who has ever heard of a clutch with 15K miles blowing? I have driven standard for 12 years now, don’t drive the car hard, and even if I did I would expect a clutch to last longer than this.
VW is treating me like a health insurance company, trying their hardest to find an out so that they can avoid paying the repair costs which should be under warranty. The dealership and head office are telling me I must pay over $2,000 to fix this, and I am a grad student without the disposable income to do so. I hate VW so much! Never ever get involved with these crooks who peddle such a poorly-made car.
