When I bought my VW…

Name: Andrea
State Purchased: Florida
Model Year: 2000
Purchase/Lease Date: December 2003

Story:
When I bought my VW, I was so excited. It was a big step up, or so I thought, above my ‘94 Honda Civic. I thought I’d made a great purchase and an investment that would last me a long time… wrong. It has only put my investment funds into the negative.

This car has had more issues than not. I am on a first name basis with the service guys. The manager at the dealership is an ass who refuses to let me speak to the techs that are working on my car. That to me is shady. What are they hiding? Well according to the shop that replaced my clutch, the techs had known the clutch was bad at the 2-week point and had rigged it up with two bolts and a nut. How nice. That’s what they are paid to do? I have been told that the window issue is not electrical. They lube up the track and send me on my way. Funny how in 14 months I’ve been to the dealership seven times for this same issue. I’ve been told by the dealership that the oil burning issue is fine by VW standards, but it seems odd that a car as new as this is burning 4.7qts in less than 4,000 miles. I am having to do oil changes more often than what VW instructs. That’s crap and costly. Why do we pay for synthetic oil and have to change it as often? The VW manager here in FL says that it’s fine and that I have to deal with it. You know, pretty much tough luck. To anyone thinking of purchasing a VW - RUN FAST AND FAR. It will only suck up your savings and leave you with headaches.
