VW Is a Good Car says Mechanic!!!

The shop owner commented on my condition of my 99 MK4 Jetta Wolfsburg, ‘well its a good car” as I wrote him a check for $1200 for a new rack and pinion set up. Sure its a good car if your a mechanic relying on business.
From the beginning (original owner) I babied my car, with scheduled maintenance regular oil changes, I kept it mint! I cannot stress to you consumers out there about how upset I am over having to rebuild my car fro the ground up. After spending at least a couple hundred dollars every couple of months after yr 5. You will not believe “what” and “when” things break on this car.Its not just the major components it includes little things which are costly ( windshield wiper fluid motor, glove box lock, flickering dash bulbs and on and on)
Everything is very expensive to repair on a VW. you dont get a break on anything except a battery replacemnt. I had to look for mechanics because the dealership repair dept. are outright ripoffs. Dealerships are charging at least $100 an hour for repair. Every repair has been estimated at least 2.5 hr, that dosent even include parts which is another scam in itself. Every major component has been replaced with exception to my manual transmission, I’ll give that another 1K…honestly. As soon as I can afford it Im going to buy anything else but a VW. VW’s built today are only good for about 4-6 YRS IF YOU’RE LUCKY. VW is a good car to own if you are a VW mechanic.
